Outcomes
What were the main findings from the study?
- MICARDIS® significantly reduced proteinuria at 1 year when directly compared with losartan. The reduction in proteinuria from baseline was 29% for MICARDIS® and 20% for losartan (p<0.05).7
- Baseline levels of gyclosylated haemoglobin did not affect the change in proteinuria from baseline in either treatment groups.7
- Systolic and diastolic blood pressure were lowered to a similar extent by MICARDIS® and losartan therapy.7
- Used continuously, MICARDIS® may help to slow the progression of renal disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.
